HbA1c refers to glycated haemoglobin which is a protein within red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout your body, joining with glucose in the blood to become glycated. Essentially the HbA1c test determines how sugary your blood is over a period of weeks/months.

How does it work: An at-home HbA1c test kit will be sent to your address, which you complete at home and post back to us.

Turnaround time: 2 days. This means it will take 2 days from receiving your sample to your test results being published.

Unsuccessful

I sent of for the test kit and followed the instruction and sent the sample off the same day. Very efficient acknowledgement of sample. The following day I was informed that the sample could not be tested and a further test kit was sent. I went through this process 3 times and on each occasion I was informed that the sample could not be processed. I accept that the first time round I may not have taken the sample properly but not three times. I feel that it is a very slick front end but it feels like a scam to me. Which is a shame as it could have been a very useful service.

Highly recommend

Easy to use the test. Got my results very quickly, in under two days. Am now going to discuss my test results with my G.P. Surgery as not scheduled to have a test with them until Sept 2024.
